On May 23rd, 2018, the opening ceremony of The Chinese Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale was held in Aula Tafri, Università IUAV di Venezia. Prof. Benno Albrecht, Prof. Li Xiangning and famous architect Wang Shu made an opening speech. The China Pavilion, taking "Building a Future Countryside" as its main theme, is curated by Prof. Li Xiangning. The exhibition depicts the countryside of contemporary China through six episodes: poetic dwellings, local production, cultural practices, agricultural tourism, community reconstruction, and future exploration. As Prof. Li Xiangning says, the motivation for this exhibition is more than just xiangchou, a Chinese term that refers to nostalgia for rural lands. We return to the countryside where Chinese culture originated to recover forgotten values and overlooked possibilities; from there, we will build a future countryside.

Then followed the releasing ceremony of magazine Architecture China. President of Guangxi Normal University Press Zhang Yibing, Deputy Editor-in-chief of Guangxi Normal University Press Liu Guanghan, Prof. and Vice President of College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University Li Xiangning, Dean of Università IUAV di Venezia Benno Albrecht and Prof. Margherita Turvani attended the ceremony. President Zhang Yibing shared the original intention and purpose of lunching and carrying forward the project of The Arts Bridge and Architecture China oversea.

Architecture China is co-published by ACC Publishing Group and Images Publishing Group, which are both wholly-owned subsidiaries of Guangxi Normal University Press. Prof. Li Xiangning takes the great responsibilities for the contents of the magazine. On the ceremony, Prof. Li Xiangning and Guangxi Normal University presented the English edition of Contemporary Architecture in China and Beautiful Villages to Università IUAV di Venezia.

By virtue of the communication platform of The Arts Bridge, some valuable Chinese architectural research works are managed to be published in the international market. And a window for the world to get a close look on Chinese architecture is also opened under the help of The Arts Bridge.
