The 2018 London Book Fair took place on April 10th. As the second biggest participants, Chinese publishers show their faith and confidence in "going global" and tell the world about Chinese stories.
In LBF, The Arts Bridge, the "going global" brand of Guangxi Normal University Press provided Zhu Yingchun and his book The Language of Bugs an independent stand to show the world his complete creation process and design ideas. The stand was white-based, with its concise design catching the eyeballs of domestic and foreign exhibitors.
In the visual image area, a short video describing the generating process of Zhu's inspiration was played repeatedly. In the creative exhibition area, visitors were able to see the samples of bugs and leaves collected and protected by Zhu Yingchun when he created the art. In the publication exhibition area, the English edition of The Language of Bugs was displayed in London for the very first time. This book was awarded a silver medal in "best book design from all over the world" 2017 and a special edition is being collected by the British Museum.
The most characteristic part in the stand was the interaction area. Visitors were allowed to write a sentence, a poem or even a letter by using the well-designed "bug font" and then printed it out on specially-made Chinese Xuan paper. A Bug's Paper gave visitors a chance to feel Chinese culture and the design idea of the Chinese contemporary artist.
