Bai Ming, artist and writer, born in Yugan, Jiangxi Province of China. Tenure track professor, Academy of Arts&Design, Tsinghua University, Chair of the Department of Ceramic Art in the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University; Member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) of UNESCO; Secretary-General of the Ceramic Art Council of China Artists Association (CAA); Member of China Oil Painting Society (COPS); Chief editor of The Journal of Chinese Ceramist;Director of Shangyu Celadon Contemporary International Ceramic Art Center. More than 20 solo exhibitions of Bai Ming have been held in China and internationally. Bai Ming has published 20 monographs on art and philosophy. He has also edited and published 11 series of books for a total of 19 volumes.
Born in Yugan, near Jingdezhen, the birthplace of porcelain, Bai Ming has contributed to the revival of contemporary Chinese ceramics and introduced it to a new worldwide audience through numerous exhibitions. Today he is arguably China's greatest exponent of this most traditional art form.
